Permission post...ish
Sep. 3rd, 2012 05:09 pmCongratulations!
You have entered the ranks of the Doctor's loved ones/cared for
Oh, god, what have you done
You have entered the ranks of the Doctor's loved ones/cared for
Oh, god, what have you done
So what does this mean?
This means, that if you're hurt, the Doctor would tear down time and space and worlds for you if he could or had to (and, believe me, if he had to, he would). This means, that if you were on the other end of the universe he would blow through everything in his way to get to you if you were in danger. This means, that if anyone were to hurt you, they will be so terribly, terribly sorry. This means, that he would gladly lay down his own life to save yours.
This also means that he will be all up in your space, all up in your business more than usual and will want to keep an eye on you as much as he can. This also means that he will be all over your network posts - and possibly a thread or two.
So this is a very simple permission post thing.
Is he allowed to bother your character's network posts and threads, would you like me to talk things over with you first, would you like me to talk things over with you in specific cases, or do you want him to not do it at all?
Or whatever other variation you can think of. This is where you tell me!

Dark Haven Books
Aug. 27th, 2011 10:26 pm
Business Type: Bookstore and occasional oddity-seller
Owner: The (11th) Doctor, previously Ushahin Dreamspinner and Hermione Granger
Location: Loki, near the border and close to the hospital
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00-19:00
Description:
A small shop with an unassuming front, Darkhaven is exactly as full of books as the front window indicates. That is, it's packed with them, although they are all arranged quite neatly by alphabetical order and subject. Ushahin bought the store from a retiring citizen, so the assortment of books is rather motley. In short, it is a browser's paradise and possibly the bane of anyone looking for a specific book. Organizing is a constant battle. There is a small reading corner in the shop, basically a few old overstuffed chairs and some cushions on the floor, and the Doctor doesn't mind people coming by just to read, as long as they're careful with the books. The atmosphere of the shop is generally cozy and welcoming.
There's also a small display of Hugo's clockwork things that he still has around even if Hugo's left. As Ushahin used to keep the shop, there will also be a small cache of well-kept rarities, first editions and other things (not necessarily books) not easily available in Asgard. Some of them came from the shop, but many have come from trips to Utgard. While the prices on the regular stock are quite reasonable, the rarities are more expensive.
Ushahin did work on making some 'friends' of only slightly questionable quality in Utgard, who found and sold him interesting gewgaws of varying usefulness. They are not be things that break the Asgard tech level, but instead its culture level--things from places that aren't grey, where people are actively creating. None of the items themselves will be illegal in any way, but don't ask how they got there or where they came from.
And basically the Doctor will keep this up to the best of his abilities (aside from the questionable bit). Although probably a little more sloppily, aside from the order to the books. That is important.

Cashier/Clerk
What it says on the tin! Employees would be expected to be able to handle a cash register, and also to learn their way around the shop to locate and recommend books to customers. Other duties include shifting/organizing stock and basic cleaning. Employees willing to travel to Utgard regularly OR mind the shop while the Doctor is gone are a bonus.
Volunteer:
Volunteer
A volunteer is really allowed to do whatever the hell they feel like doing and stop by whenever they like. The Doctor might occasionally ask for favours or for errands to be run, but he's far more likely to do them himself and leave the volunteer in charge of the store while he's out because he thinks that's more fun. A volunteer is, of course, more than welcome to ask for something to do.
There is one citizen employee, mostly to keep shop if the Travellers skip off to something more plot relevant.
